The simple agreement for using Byom — what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

In shortUsing Byom means you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Byom (“Byom”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Byom website at byom.co.inand our apps (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Byom.
In shortYou need to be old enough to use Byom — 13+, and with a guardian if you’re under 18.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Byom. If you are under 18, you may only use it with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you confirm you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.
In shortKeep your login secure and let us know if something looks wrong — you’re responsible for activity on your account.
You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Please give accurate information when you sign up, and let us know promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use. You may close your account at any time.
In shortWhat you write in Byom stays yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it and show it back to you.
Everything you create in Byom — your journals, plans, reflections, and other entries (“Your Content”) — belongs to you. We don’t claim ownership of it.
To run the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display Your Content back to you (and, where a feature involves it, to process it through our service providers — for example sending AI-feature text to Anthropic). This licence exists only to operate and improve Byom for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it.
In shortUse Byom for its purpose — don’t break the law, abuse others, or try to overload or hack the Service.
When using Byom, please don’t:

In shortByom’s AI can be helpful but can also be wrong. Treat it as a companion, not an authority — and never as professional advice.
Byom’s AI features — Chat, Guidance, Trace and the Path, plus the optional AI steps inside Overcome, Decisions, Direction, Organise, Cardboard, Travel and Activities — use Anthropic’s Claude models to generate responses, and its voice features use ElevenLabs to read text aloud. AI output is produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitablefor your situation. Use your own judgement, and don’t rely on it as professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Availability of AI features may be limited, changed, or withdrawn at any time.
In shortByom supports reflection — it is not therapy or medical care. In a crisis, contact a professional or emergency services.
Byom is a tool for reflection, mindfulness, and personal growth. It is not medical, psychological, or crisis care, and it does not replace advice from qualified professionals. Nothing in Byom — including AI-generated content — is a diagnosis or treatment.
If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, please seek immediate help — contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline. In India, you can reach the national mental-health helpline Tele-MANAS at 14416. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or a trusted professional.
In shortProfessionals on Connect are independent. Byom helps you reach them; it isn’t a party to the advice they give.
Byom Connect lets you reach professionals for a 1:1 conversation or call. Those professionals are independent — Byom provides the platform to connect, but is not a party to, and is not responsible for, the guidance, advice, or services they provide. Any arrangement is between you and them. Byom is not a healthcare provider.
In shortByom relies on providers like Google and Anthropic, and may link elsewhere; their terms apply to their parts.
Byom is built on third-party services (including Google Firebase, Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Razorpay, and Netlify) and may contain links to other sites. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for third-party content or practices.
In shortThe Byom app, name, and original content are ours. Traditional spiritual wisdom belongs to its tradition.
The Byom Service — its software, design, name, and original content — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. Traditional and spiritual teachings referenced in Byom belong to their respective traditions and are shared for learning.
In shortByom’s core is free. Byom Plus is an optional paid plan, billed once per period with no auto-renewal.
Byom’s core features are offered free of charge. Byom Plus is an optional paid plan that adds benefits for a fixed period (currently daily, weekly, or monthly). The price and terms are shown on the plans page before you pay.
Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Razorpay; we never receive or store your card or UPI details. Byom Plus is a one-time purchase for the period you choose — it does not auto-renew, so you are never charged again unless you buy again. Access lasts until the plan’s expiry date, and fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
In shortByom is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect losses from using it.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don’t guarantee that Byom will always be available, error-free, or that its content or AI output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Byom will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the Service or its content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
In shortYou can leave any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
You may stop using Byom and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. On termination, the licences you granted end, subject to anything we’re required to retain by law.
In shortWe may update these terms; we’ll refresh the date and, for big changes, tell you in the app.
We may update these Terms as Byom evolves. We’ll update the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we’ll give notice in the app. Continuing to use Byom after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
In shortThese terms are governed by the laws of India.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the courts having jurisdiction there, unless a mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
